Where Imagination Becomes Reality
3D Scotsman isn't just a 3D printing business. We are a Scottish family-run design studio where technology, art, imagination and traditional hand-finishing come together.
Born in Scotland. Built around family. Powered by imagination.

Gary's Story
Founded by Gary Fitzwater, a dad of two disabled children, 3D Scotsman grew from something deeply personal. While his family faced enormous challenges, Gary discovered that design and creation gave him somewhere to channel his emotions, energy and imagination.
Living with autism and ADHD, Gary found that the intense focus and creativity that came with the way his mind works could become one of his greatest strengths. Hours could disappear while designing, sculpting, experimenting and bringing completely new ideas to life.
Today, that passion has developed into 3D Scotsman — a family company with huge ambitions.
Technology Meets Traditional Artistry
Our sculptures don't simply come off a printer and go into a box. Many pieces go through an extensive finishing process before they're ready to leave the 3D Scotsman studio.
Models can be cleaned, prepared, assembled and then individually hand-painted and finished, helping transform a 3D print into a display sculpture. From realistic fur and weathered stone to metallic gold, silver, bronze and brass effects, the finishing process is where technology meets traditional artistry.
That means natural variations can make each hand-finished creation feel that little bit different.

We Think on a Different Scale
3D Scotsman's ambition doesn't stop with small models. We create everything from detailed busts and display pieces through to large-format and life-size sculpture projects, giving us the freedom to think on a completely different scale. Imagine a life-size animal, enormous fantasy creature or statement sculpture becoming the centrepiece of a business, event, home, exhibition or display.
Meet the Highland Cows
Our Highland Cow creations celebrate one of Scotland's most recognisable animals, from smaller decorative pieces and personalised designs through to larger statement sculptures. They combine the character of the famous shaggy Highland Coo with modern digital design and 3D manufacturing.
Fantasy & Original Creations
Our fantasy sculpture collection allows Gary's imagination to run free — warriors, demons, mythical creatures, elemental sculptures, dragons, fantasy busts, rock-and-water concepts and completely original creations developed inside the 3D Scotsman studio. Some pieces begin with nothing more than an idea. That idea becomes a digital concept. The concept becomes a sculpture.
Celebrate Something Close to Home
We create luxury-style dog and animal busts on our signature rocky bases, including Labradors, French Bulldogs, Huskies, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Spaniels, Border Collies and many more. Customers can choose finishes such as gold, silver, bronze, brass, gloss white or custom colours, with personalised nameplates available to make the sculpture even more meaningful.
We Teach the Next Generation of Makers
3D Scotsman doesn't want to keep its knowledge behind closed doors. Through the 3D Scotsman Academy, we want beginners to discover that they too can learn to design and manufacture their own creations. From understanding your first 3D printer to slicing, filament, supports, troubleshooting, CAD, digital design, finishing, painting and developing products, we aim to take people through the complete creative journey.

This Is 3D Scotsman
A family business.
A design studio.
A 3D manufacturing studio.
An academy.
A sculpture workshop.
And most importantly — a place where imagination has no limits.
From a tiny personalised creation to a life-size sculpture, from a Highland Cow to a fantasy monster, and from a digital idea to a beautifully hand-painted finished piece, we want people to look at our work and ask:
"How did they make that?"
